Yuletide Delights

These are some of my images and products created during the magic of Winter Solstice. All images are available in all product forms.

La Befana

The Befana is an Italian crone goddess who flies around in the sky leaving fresh fruit, figs and gifts for the children at Epiphany. Epiphany means "manifestation of the divine". She was the wise old one that harkens the arrival of the golden sun child, and celebrates the magic found in all children and little animals.

ABUNDANCE -- Altar Art $27

The angel of grace generously pours fourth gifts for all to receive. Elves play joyously in the magical abundance, while fairies dance in the flow. The magic of the universe is all around, waiting for us to open and receive it.

FAIRY GODDESS MOTHER -- Goddess $27

The Fairy Goddess Mother as we know her from European folk tales, evolved from the ancient pagan fairy tradition. Fairies are nature spirits, so what became the "Queen of the Fairies" was originally the great goddess mother, who was, of course, Mother Nature.

Here we see her as the Triple Goddess. As crone she is the great old bare trees of wintertime. Her energy is as expansive as the sky, a manifestation of the "Queen of Heaven". As mother she is the evergreen tree, steady and nurturing as the Tree of Life. In her maiden form she is manifesting as a Spring elf, watching the flowers grow.

MIDWINTER MAGIC -- Altar Art $27

The Great Mother and her angels come forth on this darkest night of the year Stillness awaits the rebirth of the sun, resting in the waters of the deep below. A stag, herald of the returning light, gazes upward into the vast night sky. All of nature is deep and quiet, save one little elf playing outside his magic house.

The magic of Yuletide spirals forth from the great star of hope illuminating the night sky. Little elves dance and play, celebrating the return of the light. In this scene, mystery and magic abound.

As the seasons turn from warm to cool Skadia the goddess of winter is joined by her companions the wolves. Together they step through the portal of time into the mystery, beauty and magic of the world.
